Dover Museums
This dover museum dedicated to inventor E.R. Johnson showcases talking machines, records and other relics from the Victor Talking Machine Company. Visitors have the chance to learn about the origins of the sound recording industry.
The Biggs Museum of American Art is comprised of 14 galleries that display the personal art collection of Sewell Biggs. The artworks are primarily from the Delaware Valley region. The pieces span approximately 200 years and a variety of styles.
The Air Mobility Command Museum is located on the Dover Air Force Base in Hangar 1301, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum offers a collection of many military flying machines and vintage planes dating back to 1941. Many World War II artifacts are also on display.
Come and explore rural farm life, get connected with Delaware’s agricultural heritage and the important role it plays. Visitors step back in time as they wander through the historic Village set in the 1890s with twenty-one 19th Century structures to explore. The Great Hall is home to an 18th century log house, the first Broiler Chicken House plus 12,000 artifacts and many changing exhibits.
